Basement waterproofing in the Quad Cities
Most wet basements are a groundwater problem. A drain tile and sump pump system collects the water at the base of the wall and sends it out of the house.
How the system gets installed
Select a step to see where it happens.
Signs you may need it
- Water after heavy rain or spring thaw
- Damp walls, or a white chalky powder on them
- A musty smell that does not go away
- Cracks in the floor or walls
- A sump pump that runs a lot, or one you have never tested
Not sure? The basement check walks through these and tells you where you stand.
What it does not fix
Drainage handles water. It does not repair a structural problem. If your walls are bowing or leaning, we will tell you so. See foundation repair.
If water is mostly collecting around the house, yard drainage may be part of the answer.
Questions people ask
How long does the work take?
It depends on how much wall we need to drain and how easy the basement is to work in. We go over the schedule at your free visit, before you decide anything.
Will it make a mess of my floor?
Installing interior drain tile means opening a channel in the basement floor along the wall. Once the pipe and stone are in, the channel is closed and the floor is patched. We will show you what that looks like for your basement at the visit.
What does the warranty cover?
Our drainage systems carry a lifetime warranty, and sump pumps and check valves carry a 5-year warranty. The warranty page explains how to make a request.
Do I need a sump pump?
In an interior drain tile system, the pump is what moves collected water out of the house. At your visit we will tell you what your basement needs and what it does not.
Will a drain system make my basement less humid?
A drain system stops liquid water from coming in at the floor and walls. Humidity is a separate issue. A dehumidifier may still help, and we will tell you if we think it will.
Do you work in my town?
We serve homes on both sides of the Mississippi. Check the service area page for the full list, or call if you do not see yours.
